I invite you to join my friends and me at the Anhinga Writers' Studio Summer Workshops July 28-31 in beautiful Gainesville, Florida. Greedy. I’m just plain greedy. I had so much fun with the writers of Indian Springs, Georgia last year that when they invited me to come back, I jumped at the chance.

I will be teaching Generations Gallery Third Annual Writers Conference at Indian Springs, Georgia on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24.

Anhinga Writer' Studio is spoiling writers!

The Summer Workshops—where we’ll be teaching July 29-August 1 here in Gainesville—have all the Anhingae scrambling as manuscripts roll in for evaluation, writers are registering for the courses and events, and ticket sales are soaring for our evening with Charlaine Harris and the Book Fair with all our authors signing.

PUPPET MADNESS!

Today I decided that my career is definitely bizarre. I’ve thought this for a long time. (My literary agent knows why I think this, but my life insurance agent does not. We keep my “adventures” a secret from him, for he’s delicate and lacks imagination.) But today as I stared up in horror at the threatening mound that used to be my desk, I was struck by a most odd contrast. Perched atop the Anhinga Writers’ Summer Workshop files, the boxes of research that will soon be a new book, notebooks of things that are alarmingly behind schedule, and the shot sheets for a new script … were silly little faces with huge eyes staring back at me. Puppets. Insane puppets.
